Helen Grogan MA (Oxon) PGCE (Institute of Education - London)

Helen Grogan is the owner and director of Helen Grogan Tuition.  She has lived in Chelsea, where her business is based for 30 years.  She was educated at Kelly College, Tavistock and then read Jurisprudence (Legal philosophy) at Lincoln College, Oxford where she gained an MA.  She had a long career in the City, working as a stockbroker for a number of well-known broking firms.

After some time out to have her son,she attended the Institute of Education to take a PGCE.  Having worked in various schools for a few years she decided to set up her own tuition business as she had gone through the process of independent school exams with her own son. Helen  specialises in  teaching children aged between 7 and 16. She organises Saturday group classes for children aged 6 to 13.

Helen has been advising parents on school entry and appropriate preparation for many years and has an extensive knowledge of the school entry system.  Previous clients have expressed considerable satisfaction about her helpful advice and guidance.

Helen monitors all the teaching and work at the groups and maintains a close relationship with the parents and children. She is always present at the classes and teaches a number of groups herself.

She feels very strongly that parents who feel anxious about examinations should not be exploited by unprofessional tuition services, poorly qualified tutors and ridiculous fees for interview practice and advice.

Helen enjoys privately tutoring some older children and specialises in english. She also writes some of her own english comprehension and creative writing activities for the groups.
